Airbnb’s real life-sized Polly Pocket compact offers fans a unique chance to relive their childhood memories on an unprecedented scale. Olivia Palamountain reports
In a nostalgic nod to the ’90s, Polly Pocket is celebrating her 35th birthday by opening a life-sized version of her iconic compact home on Airbnb.
The beloved miniature doll is stepping into the role of Airbnb host, offering fans a chance to experience her world on a grand scale.
Located in Littleton, Massachusetts, the 42-ft-tall compact brings Polly’s tiny world to life.
The two-storey structure is a faithful recreation of Polly’s vintage-themed Slumber Party Fun compact, complete with all the colourful and whimsical details that made the toy a childhood favourite.
“I can’t wait for you to visit and help celebrate my birthday in my most epic compact ever,” says Polly in a statement by Airbnb. “Let’s have some serious slumber party fun in my hometown of Littleton, where we make the ordinary extraordinary.”
The oversized compact is packed with nostalgic surprises designed to transport guests back to their childhoods.
Visitors can explore every nook and cranny of the iconic home, where hidden surprises await discovery.
The experience includes access to Polly’s vanity room, stocked with hair and nail accessories in her signature colours, and a retro fridge perfect for crafting the ultimate ’90s-inspired picnic.
Polly’s closet houses her most iconic throwback looks, which are available to try on, while the living room offers a cosy space for movie nights, complete with popcorn and plenty of pillows.
For sleeping arrangements, guests can choose between Polly’s pullout couch or a life-sized Action Park Tent just outside the compact.
Bookings for this unique stay will open on August 21 at 6am PST, with three one-night stays available from September 12 – 14 .
Each stay accommodates four guests at the nostalgia-inducing price of US$89 per person – a nod to Polly Pocket’s debut year of 1989.
For those unable to secure an overnight stay, Polly is also offering daytime experiences from September 16 – October 6.
These adventures, designed for groups of up to 12 guests, provide another opportunity to step into Polly’s world.
