‘Celebration, revelry and indulgence’ are on the menu with Sorn, a company that fuses fine food and adventure travel. Olivia Palamountain reports
Get-away-from-it-all, personalised foodie escapes from culinary adventure travel outfit Sorn offer luxury and seclusion, at a time when privacy matters more than ever.
Travel and adventure are at the forefront of every Sorn event, coupled with a dedication to champion top quality local, seasonal produce from around the UK.
Each trip and dining experience is designed to order, “with a narrative weaving through it so that clients can discover the story behind the food on their plate,” all fully staffed and prepared by private chefs.
Foraging in woodlands, smoking wild trout and diving for fresh scallops were among the many experiences that ignited their lifetime passion for turning food into an adventure.
Private clients – families, friends, corporate groups – can book at-home events or one of Sorn’s wild escapes, arranged in remote locations around the UK.
Intimate events have included sunset dinners on the banks of a lake, dinner parties at private home sand a banquet in a decorated hall to celebrate the English black truffle.
How much does it costs? Rates start from £300 per person based on creating a woodland feast experience, for example, for 20 people. Prices include a half-day foraging expedition and full woodland feast with all food and drink, day camp set up, chefs and staff included.
