Taking the “Shoppable Stays” trend to the next level, two Lake Como hotels – the Grand Hotel Tremezzo and Passalacqua – have launched a collection of branded luggage, trainers and homeware. Jenny Southan reports
Valentina De Santis and her mother Antonella – the two women behind the family-owned Grand Hotel Tremezzo and Passalacqua in Italy’s Lake Como – have together unveiled an online lifestyle boutique called Sense of Lake.
To reflect the “familial sensibility” of their homes, they have created a stylish edit of luxury accessories, clothing and homeware. Each is custom made and incorporate the colours and iconography of the two hotels to communicate the “timeless charm” of Lake Como. New limited editions and exclusive partnerships will be unveiled throughout the year.
Working predominantly with Italian designers such as Chez Dede, Back Label, FRS For Restless Sleepers, LGR, Le Niné, Mantero, Bottega Conticelli and Papusse, the Sense of Lake range features items from the hotels that make for stylish souvenirs. (Globetrender particularly likes the Superga trainers for €120 and the Bric’s Grand Tremezzo Holdall for €450.)
Other products available to buy encompass locally crafted silk scarves, jewelled bags, sleepwear, dresses, handcrafted leather accessories and velvet slippers – all exclusively created and inspired by the hotels in signature hues of Grand Hotel Tremezzo orange and the golden yellow of Passalacqua.
Antonella says: “Sense of Lake is our way to ensure your time on Lake Como remains with you long after returning home – memorable moments evoked through beautiful fashion, interior adornments and enchanting scents inspired by Passalacqua and Grand Hotel Tremezzo. Our hotels have family at their essence, so it was important to us that this next chapter for Sense of Lake echoes this sentiment.”
