The adults-only Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos resort in Mexico has created a six-night couples’ workation package costing almost US$20,000. Jenny Southan reports
The new “ultra-luxe” C-Suite Workation package being sold at the Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos claims to be “redefining the work-from-anywhere culture of today’s professional landscape”.
In addition to a six-night stay in a 185 sqm Grand Class King suite, the hotel has curated a selection of amenities to help people be more productive while in a leisure setting. These include 24/7 IT support, a custom snacks and drinks bar, and ergonomic desk (which you’d expect to find in almost every hotel room anyway), although in this case it comes with a laptop stand (not pictured here).
As you’d hope, there is an in-suite printer, super-fast wifi, and ample power outlets across the suite to ensure that devices are charged at every moment. If in need of a special device or appliance, the team at Grand Velas Boutique can acquire it for you.
To help keep stress at a minimum, there are also personalised morning wellness activities, in-suite aromatherapy oils to clear the mind (lemongrasss or eucalyptus, perhaps?), refreshing skin care products and a day at the hotel’s SE spa. Fitness instructors are on hand to lead private stress-free stretch class on the beach or in the hotel’s cutting-edge gym.
The spa offers remote workers the signature “Flowing with the Ocean” treatment designed to soothe and rejuvenate. This offering begins with the Ocean Sounds Signature massage, a unique blend of sound therapy and personalised massage techniques aimed at deep relaxation and energy balance.
Vibrating bowls harmonize the heart rate while releasing spinal tension, followed by a tailored massage to ease muscle tightness. The journey continues with a Cellular Hydration Facial, an intensive treatment that leaves the skin soft, smooth, and hydrated. The experience is rounded off with targeted relief for tech-neck tension.
Is it worth it? Grand Class King suites typically cost from US$11,364 for six nights with a minibar, Nespresso coffee maker and gourmet tea, welcome bottles of wine and mezcal, aromatherapy diffuser, daily spa amenities and a 24-hour personal concierge.
Opened January 2024, the Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos is a new resort with 79 suites, a two-star Michelin consulting chef with creative dining experiences, wine selection inspired by the proximity to Mexico’s fine wine region, and innovative spa treatments inspired by Mexican culture.
