Conceived by the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, the lavish Macau hotel was his final interior design project and “showcases his incomparable creative vision”. Jenny Southan reports
Slated to open next month, the Karl Lagerfeld Macau will be an opulent five-star hotel set within the Grand Lisboa Palace resort.
Combining “immaculate interiors with unrivaled hospitality”, the tower will be the only hotel in the world that was wholly designed by Lagerfeld, who passed away in 2019.
Every element in the hotel is said to “exude his unparalleled creativity”, from the extravagant room décor and large-scale installations, to the bathrobes and bedsheets.
Reflecting Karl Lagerfeld’s passion for collaboration, specially commissioned furnishings include exquisite sculptures by Dutch artist Marcel Wanders and French artist Jean-Michel Othoniel, and Terzani chandeliers.
The Karl Lagerfeld brand has more than 120 stores worldwide, with key locations in Paris, London, Munich, Dubai and Shanghai, plus a pop-up in Milan.
