Along with the arrival of its new 48-seater plane, Four Seasons has announced incredible round-the-world itineraries for its Private Jet Experience in 2022. Rose Dykins reports
As private jet travel gains momentum during Covid-19, Four Seasons has launched a new series of private jet journeys between its global properties for 2022.
The Four Seasons Private Jet Experience offers a choice of itineraries, where guests fly between the brand’s five-star hotels around the world, enjoying memorable experiences in each destination.
The company’s new private jet – an Airbus A321neo-LR plane – will take its first flight this year. Having been customised based on input from previous Four Seasons customers, it offers the widest and tallest cabin in its class. 
It has 48 seats configured to maximise space for guests to spread out and relax, and its in-flight crew includes a dedicated concierge, an executive chef and a doctor.
Four Seasons says its new private jet has a hospital-grade air filtration system that renews cabin air every two to three minutes, removing 99.9 per cent of particles, viruses and bacteria. Personal hygiene kits are provided, and all passengers, crew members and employees are medically screened before each itinerary starts.
As well as the extra privacy, another advantage for luxury jet-setters is the flexibility it brings should Covid-19 impact their plans. The Four Season Jet Experience has a curated set of itineraries, these remain flexible should local circumstances change – and the jet can even be rerouted “mid-flight” if needed.
New for 2022, the African Wonders tour is a 13-day, family-friendly itinerary departing from Athens before jetting off to Egypt, Tanzania, Mauritius, Rwanda, Zambia, Johannesburg and South Africa.
Highlights include a hot air ballon ride over the Serengeti, gorilla trekking in Rwanda, and a day trip to Victoria Falls. The private jet tour departs in December 28, 2021, and ends January 9, 2022.
Next year will also see the return of two Four Seasons’ Private Jet Experience itineraries: Timeless Encounters and Ancient Explorer.
Timeless Encounters (March 14-April 6, 2022) departs from Hawaii, before touching down in Bora Bora, Australia (Sydney), Indonesia (Bali), Thailand (Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai), India, Dubai, Prague and London. Highlights include a day trip to the Taj Mahal and a private tour of the Sydney Opera House.
Meanwhile, Ancient Explorer (April 1-May 1, 2022) flies out of Miami before stopping at Mexico City, Easter Island, Bora Bora, the Great Barrier Reef, Thailand, Jordan, Egypt, Italy and Spain.

“Since our inaugural journey in 2015, the response has been overwhelming. Many of our trips consistently sell out, often with repeat guests, and as travellers look ahead to the future, we expect to see the same level of interest in our 2022 itineraries.”
He adds: “Today’s travellers are choosing brands they trust to place a priority on health and safety while still offering the highest quality product. With Four Seasons, they can explore the world with the peace of mind that travelling and staying with us provides.”
Aman Resorts has also launched its own private jet offering. The Aman Private Jet Package whisks groups of two to eight passengers from London to Amanjena resort in Morocco – onboard the brand’s 12-seater Bombarder Global 5000 jet – for a four-night stay at the luxury resort.
Priced from £4,750 per person, the package includes return flights on the jet, accommodation, airport transfers, daily breakfast and fast-track immigration service.
In its 2021 Travel Trend Forecast, Globetrender predicts “PJ Packages” will be a key travel trend for the near future, as luxury travellers opt for the seclusion and flexibility of private jets, and a slew of new luxury brands respond by curating tours and holidays centred around privately chartered planes.
